About CFB Market
CFB Market is an independent fan project that follows college football like a stock market. Every FBS team is a ticker, and its price moves once a week based on how the team played.
How prices work
Each team opens the season at a price based on its preseason rating. After every game, the price moves by how much better or worse the team did than expected. Lose as the favorite and it costs extra. The full method is on How it works.
Where the data comes from
Game results and ratings come from CollegeFootballData.com. Football spending for the valuation pages comes from the U.S. Department of Education's Equity in Athletics (EADA) reports. No betting lines or odds go into the model.
Who's behind it
An independent fan project, run by one college football fan. It is not affiliated with any school, conference, the NCAA, the College Football Playoff or any media company. Team names and abbreviations are used only to identify teams.
The fine print
Entertainment only. Prices are not betting picks or investment advice, and there is nothing to buy or sell.
